William was born 1853 in Gt Rissington, he was a cowman and farm labourer. William married Clara Taylor 15 Oct 1883 at Gt Rissington, they had four children, Florence Emily, Charles George born Sept 1890, Fred and Beatrice Ellen born 1895, the same year as the village school was built. William died in 1923 and Clara in 1932.
